Drywall in Spokane

Our Drywall Process, From Survey to Texture

A survey and take off on site, a spec and a start date within days, and texture matched to what is already on your walls before anything is sprayed.

How a job is surveyed, specified and run

You have a written spec, a sheet count and a start date before any board is ordered or delivered.

A close view of knockdown texture on a finished drywall wall, the flattened spatter pattern raking across the surface under a low light so the relief reads.

Spokane Drywall Pros works across Spokane and the surrounding valleys on everything from a single repair to a whole house. The six steps run in one order regardless, because the survey at the front is what makes the price at the end mean anything.

Six steps every time. Your call gets a free visit the same week, and the survey and take off take under an hour on site. The spec and the start date follow within a few days. Then protection and hanging over one to two days, taping and finishing and texture across two to four with drying counted, and a haul away and a swept floor on the day we finish. Only the middle two grow with the job.

A repair patch matched into an existing texture is a one day visit. A whole house at rough stage is two to three weeks through hanging, finishing and texture. Dry air here speeds the coats up and makes the texture less forgiving, and both are already in the dates you are given.

Nothing is ordered before the spec is agreed and no texture is sprayed before a sample is matched to your wall. Call (509) 357-5705 and we will survey it this week.

Six steps, timed from real jobs

The same order from a single patch to a whole house. Dry air here shortens the drying and makes texture matching harder, and the durations account for both.

A long run of freshly hung board down an empty room, joints taped and not yet coated, the surface holding an even tone the whole way across
  1. Your call and a free visit

    Same week

You tell us what has come down, cracked or needs drywall, and we schedule a time to come and look at it. The visit is free and nothing is quoted over the phone.

  2. Survey and take-off

    Under an hour on site

We measure the room, count the sheets and check what is behind the board, because framing that is out of true changes the price before anything is hung.

  3. The spec and the start date

    Within a few days

You choose the level of finish and the texture, we agree the board type for each room, and the start date is booked. Nothing is ordered until that is settled.

  4. Protection and hanging

One to two days on site

Floors covered, doorways sealed and return vents covered, then board cut and fixed to the framing, moisture-resistant in wet rooms and Type X where a rating is called for.

  5. Taping, finishing and texture

Two to four days with drying

Setting compound for the bedding coat and lightweight for the finish, sanded with a vacuum rather than open. Texture is matched to what is already on the wall, or sprayed flat where the spec calls for it.

  6. Haul-away and a swept floor

    The day we finish

Scrap and buckets go with us the same day, and the floor is swept and vacuumed before we leave. What is left is a wall that is ready for paint.

Six reasons for a repair or a whole house

The two jobs people call about here could not be more different in size, and the thing they have in common is that both are judged on whether the finished wall looks like it was always there. Everything below is aimed at that.

1. Texture matched before it is sprayed
A sample board is matched against your existing wall and shown to you first. Knockdown and orange peel come in a hundred variations, and a patch in the wrong one is more obvious than the damage it replaced.
2. A survey, not a walk round
The take off is measured and written down inside the hour, so the sheet count and the price come from the building rather than from experience of buildings like it.
3. The spec is on paper
Board type, finish level, texture and who handles the haul away are all written before you agree to anything. It is also what lets you put our number honestly beside somebody else s.
4. Repairs are welcome work
Small patches are quoted and scheduled like any other job rather than squeezed in when a crew has a slow afternoon. A repair nobody wanted is a repair that shows.
5. Dry air used, not fought
Coats go off fast here, which shortens the job and gives you less time to catch a bad one. The schedule uses the speed and still leaves the finisher room to check the work under a light.
6. Hauled away the day we finish
Offcuts, buckets and masking all leave on the last day rather than sitting in the garage until somebody makes a trip. The floor is swept before we hand the room back.

Spokane Drywall Pros

One crew is kept off the schedule all year, for the ceiling that drops on a Tuesday.

Spokane Drywall Pros hangs, tapes, finishes and textures board across Spokane and the towns out to the county line. New construction and additions, repairs after a leak, popcorn ceilings taken down, and whole houses hung to a turnover date. Four crews and a little over two hundred jobs a year.

Why people call us rather than the next name on the list

  • Twelve years hanging drywall in this valley
  • The measure is free and the quote names the board and the finish level
  • References from recent jobs in your part of town, yours to call
  • Dry air here sets compound early, and the schedule is built around that
  • The room is swept, vacuumed and handed back before the van leaves

If you have a wall that has cracked, a ceiling that has started to sag or a room that needs drywall from scratch, call (509) 357-5705 and somebody will come and look at it. You get a price taken off the rooms themselves rather than guessed over the phone, and if a patch will do the job we will tell you so.
